Dad.

I wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday Dad. I wanted to give you a really big hug as I woke this morning. I wanted to hand you your present that I wrapped oh so perfectly. And I wanted to make sure that you knew just how much I loved you.

And than I remembered you were on the other side of the world basking in the New Zealand sun. It has been a little more than a year now since you have called New Zealand your home. And I have missed you every day since. I have come to realize that your presence makes me whole. That I need you more than I ever thought I did. And that I am more like you than anyone else. I love you,Dad.

I love that you never felt like I was too old for your hugs. I love that you never held back the ‘I love you’ everytime we said goodbye. I love that you have always believed in me, even when I made some mistakes along the way. And I love that all you ever wanted was for me to be happy. I love you, Dad.

Happy Birthday. To a man I am happy to call my Dad.

Natalie Portman and loving ourselves.

I picked up the February issue of InStyle magazine the other day and while flipping through the pages I came across these ahhhmazingly gorgeous photos of the ever so beautiful Natalie Portman. I have always been such a huge fan of Natalie Portman. She proves that you can be sexy,smart,down to earth and kind all in one small package!! {Also love that she’s a vegan} And the lighting in these photos taken by Michelangelo Di Battista?! Breathtaking. I was also struck by something she said during her interview when speaking about Alber Elbaz at Lanvin..

{He told me,”People will try to make you wear heels because you’re short. But that’s the most beautiful thing about you,so only wear flats.” I’ve learned it’s very French to celebrate  something about yourself that others might say is your flaw.}

I really love that!! Embrace your uniqueness. With all the crazy ideas out there today on what we are ‘supposed’ to look like.. It is so refreshing to hear someone say ‘Be you’ and celebrate everything about yourself!! She is brilliant. Love her.

Happy Friday.

Golden Globes

I have always loved movies and fashion, so you can probably imagine how much I love award season and curling up and watching The Golden Globes. Sometimes I wonder what Jeremy is thinking when I start to tear up while watching Christian Bale,Natalie Portman and Chris Colfer take home wins!! Yes I am that girl. With all that said I thought I would share what my favorite look of the night was. By a landslide!! Thanks to the amazing Rachel Zoe, Anne Hathaway looked stunning in her Armani Privé gown.

My 2nd favorite goes to the beautiful Mandy Moore in her amazing blue tulle Monique Lhullier gown. I am completely in love with the color.

And my 3rd and final favorite look of the night goes to Miss Dianna Agron in her beautiful nude J.Mendel dress. So simple and so pretty!! Who was on your best dressed list?!
